Schedule Your Focus: Make Deep Work Automatic

Stop deciding every day whether to focus. Aura schedules make your most important routines start on their own — a complete guide to templates, snooze, skip, and reliability.

By AuraLock Team

The hardest part of a focus routine is usually not the focusing itself. It is the daily decision to start. A schedule removes that decision. Your Deep Work Aura begins at the same time each day, whether you remember to start it or not.

How scheduling works

When you create an Aura, you can set it up as a schedule. AuraLock remembers the days and times you choose, and prepares the Aura when that moment arrives:

  • Starts at — when the Aura window begins
  • Ends at — when the Aura window closes
  • Repeat — which days of the week it applies to (weekdays, weekends, or a custom selection)
  • Ask before starting — an optional confirmation before the Aura begins

You stay in control. A scheduled Aura never starts without a clear moment of entry.

What the day looks like

At 8:55 AM, AuraLock reminds you that your Deep Work Aura starts soon. At 9:00, the Aura is ready. One tap on Enter Aura begins your protected block. If you need a few more minutes, Snooze gives you a short reprieve. If the day is not working out, Skip today resets things for tomorrow.

If you miss the window

Life happens. If you miss a scheduled Aura, AuraLock shows a reminder that the Aura did not begin, with options to start now, reschedule, or skip. A missed morning is not a failure. The schedule is already set for tomorrow.

Templates make this fast

Rather than building a schedule from scratch, you can start from a template. The templates cover the most common routines:

TemplateWindowGood for
Weekdays 9–5Mon–Fri, 9 AM – 5 PMA protected workday
Deep Work MorningsMon–Fri, 7–10 AMYour best thinking hours
Evening Wind-DownEvery day, 8–10:30 PMEnding the day calmly
Weekend Deep WorkSat–Sun, 10 AM – 2 PMProtected weekends

Pick one, adjust the times to fit your life, and you are done.

Automatic vs confirmed start

With automatic start, the Aura begins without prompting. This suits established routines you do not want to think about. With ask before starting, AuraLock sends a notification and the Aura begins only when you confirm. This suits schedules that vary day to day, or a habit that is still forming.

Combine schedules into a rhythm

You can run different Auras at different times. Deep Work on weekday mornings, an Evening Wind-Down every night, and a weekend Aura for personal time. The free plan allows 2 schedules. Pro removes the limit entirely.

Keep schedules reliable

Scheduled Auras depend on AuraLock running in the background. Two things keep them reliable. First, exempt AuraLock from battery optimization. Second, run Guardian after OS or app updates, so it can confirm nothing was silently reset.

A commitment you make once

A schedule is a commitment you make once instead of every day. You write the intention once, for example “I want to write in the mornings,” and AuraLock takes care of starting it from then on. That is the practical difference a schedule makes.
