Install AuraLock

Step-by-step guide to install AuraLock on your Android device and prepare it for your first focus session.

Installing AuraLock takes just a few minutes. Follow these steps to get started.

1. Download AuraLock

AuraLock is available on the Google Play Store. Search for "AuraLock" or use the direct link below.

System requirements

AuraLock requires Android 8.0 (API level 26) or higher. Some features may vary depending on your Android version and device manufacturer.

2. Open AuraLock

Once installed, open AuraLock from your app drawer. You will see the welcome screen with a brief introduction to the app.

3. Complete onboarding

Follow the onboarding flow to learn the basics. It introduces what an Aura is, how to choose what stays alive, and how Standard and Strict boundaries work.

4. Grant required permissions

AuraLock needs certain Android permissions to protect your focus. The app will guide you through each one:

Accessibility, to monitor app usage
Display over other apps, to show the Aura overlay
Usage access, to detect which apps are running

Permissions are essential

Without the required permissions, AuraLock cannot protect your focus. Each permission is explained in detail in our permissions documentation.

5. Complete Guardian setup

Guardian will check that your device is configured correctly. Follow any recommendations to ensure AuraLock works reliably.

6. Create your first Aura

You are ready. Create your first Aura and start your first focused session.
