Most AuraLock issues are caused by missing permissions or Android battery restrictions. This guide helps you fix them quickly.

First step: Run Guardian

Always start by running Guardian in AuraLock settings. It identifies the most common configuration issues.

Aura is not blocking apps

1. Check that Accessibility is enabled
2. Verify Usage Access is granted
3. Ensure Display over other apps is allowed
4. Run Guardian to confirm

Aura stops unexpectedly

1. Disable battery optimization for AuraLock
2. Allow background activity
3. Enable autostart if available
4. Check your manufacturer's guide. Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and others each have device-specific background settings

Aura not restored after a restart

1. Enable autostart so AuraLock can recover after boot
2. Disable battery optimization so the restore notification isn't suppressed
3. Check that AuraLock isn't removed from the recent-apps list

Timer is inaccurate

1. Grant Alarms and reminders permission
2. Disable battery optimization
3. On Android 12+, allow exact alarms in system settings

Scheduled Aura does not start

1. Verify the schedule is enabled
2. Check alarms permission
3. Disable battery optimization
4. Ensure AuraLock is not force-stopped

Overlay not showing

1. Enable Display over other apps
2. Check that Accessibility is working
3. Some manufacturers block overlays in certain apps. This is expected
