AuraLock on Tablets and Foldables

AuraLock adapts to the device you use. Here is what focus looks like on phones, large screens, and foldables — and how to set up each one.

By AuraLock Team

AuraLock runs on different screen sizes and adjusts its layout for each one. This post explains how the experience changes on phones, tablets, and foldables, and how setup works on all of them.

Phones

On a phone, an Aura is a single-column experience. The timer ring is the visual anchor. Your allowed apps sit below it. When you reach for something outside the Aura, the boundary screen appears.

Tablets

On larger screens, AuraLock uses a two-column layout. The timer and session state stay on one side. Your motivation, streak, and allowed apps sit on the other. Nothing is stretched or awkwardly zoomed. The layout is designed for the space.

A tablet Aura works well for study, reading, and long writing sessions. The whitelist works the same way. You choose what stays alive, and everything else waits outside.

Foldables

Foldables change their usable screen when the device opens and closes. AuraLock’s responsive layout reflows gracefully when the display size changes mid-session. The boundary holds whether you are on the cover screen or the full inner display.

Setup is the same everywhere

Setup is identical on every screen size:

  1. Install AuraLock and grant the required permissions
  2. Run Guardian to confirm your device is configured correctly
  3. Create or choose an Aura
  4. Enter your Aura

The setup lives in the app, not in device-specific settings. Moving between your phone, tablet, and foldable therefore feels the same, because it is the same app.

Multi-device rhythm

Your practice can span devices. Use a tablet for long reading or writing Auras. Use a foldable for work that moves between the cover and the inner display. Use your phone for everyday focus. Goals, streaks, and insights track the time you protect, so every device contributes to the same practice.

Supported devices

AuraLock is built for Android. That includes most modern Android phones, tablets, and foldables. Android manufacturers customize some settings differently, including battery optimization, autostart, and background behavior. Guardian adapts its checks to your specific device. See the tablet & foldable guide for details.

Your focus practice does not depend on which screen you are holding. The same practice works on any of them.
