Background restrictions
How to manage Android background restrictions for reliable AuraLock operation.
What are background restrictions?
Android limits what apps can do when they are not on screen. These restrictions can stop AuraLock from monitoring your app usage.
Why AuraLock needs background access
AuraLock must remain active in the background to detect when you open restricted apps and show the Aura overlay.
How to allow background activity
- Open Android Settings
- Go to Apps → AuraLock
- Tap Battery
- Set battery usage to Unrestricted
- Check that background activity is allowed (the exact label varies by manufacturer)
Steps vary by device
The exact menu names differ between Android versions and manufacturers. Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and others each add their own background management — see the device guides for your manufacturer.
How to verify
Start an Aura, then use other apps for several minutes. AuraLock should still enforce boundaries. If not, background restrictions may be active.
