AuraLock Accessibility Permission: What It Does
Why AuraLock needs Android Accessibility permission and how to enable it on every device — exact steps for Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo, vivo, Huawei, Tecno, and Pixel.
What is Accessibility?
Android Accessibility services let apps interact with the user interface. AuraLock uses the service to detect when you open an app and to enforce your Aura boundaries.
Why does AuraLock need it?
Without Accessibility, AuraLock cannot detect when a restricted app is opened, show the Aura overlay to redirect your attention, or enforce the boundaries you have set.
How to enable it on your phone
Every Android manufacturer puts this screen somewhere different — on MIUI it is Additional settings → Accessibility, on One UI it is Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps. Pick your phone below for the exact path.
Accessibility Service
RequiredThis is the heart of AuraLock — it detects when an app outside your Aura opens and brings you back. It only checks which app is in front; it never reads your messages, passwords, or screen content.
In AuraLock: open Settings → Permissions and tap this permission — the button reads “Open Settings”. It opens this exact screen on your phone.
Xiaomi · MIUI / HyperOS
HyperOS (Android 14+) hides “Additional settings → Accessibility” inside Settings → Apps → AuraLock → Accessibility. Use the search bar in Settings if you cannot find it.
- 1 Open Settings → Additional settings → Accessibility
- 2 Tap “Downloaded apps” (MIUI lists installed services here, not under “Installed services”)
- 3 Tap AuraLock
- 4 Turn the switch on
- 5 Tap “Allow” to confirm
- 6 If the switch flips back off, long-press it, choose “Allow restricted settings”, then turn it on again

- Other permissions → “Display pop-up windows while running in the background” → Allow
- Other permissions → “Show on lock screen” → Allow
- Apps → Manage apps → AuraLock → Autostart → ON
- Battery → App battery saver → AuraLock → No restrictions

Run Guardian afterwards — the Accessibility card turns green as soon as the service is on.

What happens if disabled?
AuraLock cannot enforce your Aura boundaries, and restricted apps stay accessible.
How to verify
After enabling, run Guardian. It confirms that Accessibility is working correctly.
